		<description>I think it's the classic satirical *nudge nudge, wink wink* shock value - let's encourage the audience into a smug state, content with their sophistication, without actually challenging colonial powers, cultural stereotypes, etc etc.</description>

		<description>My first conclusion is that had I run across this ad in the wild I would not have thought it obviously strange and certainly not shocking.  Shows how little I know about cultural tropes that I don't recognize the Oval Office.

Second conclusion is that I still wouldn't have found it shocking.  I suppose I am too removed from the "War On Terror" line of thought to jump from Arabic imagery to terrorists without an intermediary.</description>
