Reader Quiz: What’s Your Best September Photo?
I’m prepping the next batch of Flickr testimonials for later on this week, but it’s not enough. I want more! Not just testimonials to write, but more photos to pore over and comment on.
I’ve spent some time on Explore, I’ve browsed through my contact photos, checked out other people’s favorites, and it’s fun! I’ve forgotten how much I enjoy commenting on and tagging other people’s photos.
So now that I’m revitalized and wired to check out what the internet has to show me, I’ve decided to start the flood of comments at home:
What’s the best photo you took last month?
I want you to comment on this entry with a link to your best photo from the month of September. You can explain why it’s the best or your favourite, I’m interested to hear it. I’ll keep accepting entries until next Tuesday, when I’ll post a bevy of beauteous links along with my own personal best September photo.
I’m hoping to see some photos of fall leaves, because I haven’t really taken any, but feel free to submit photos of anything you like. I’m looking forward to it!
Send me your photos!

This was my favorite September photo last month:

The leaves around here didn’t start changing until October, but I like this photo because it seems to be a strange mark the end of summer. I love this picture because it is so mysterious: Who is this man and where is he coming from and why is he dressed like that?
I also like this picture so much because I almost didn’t get it. I was walking along the shore when I saw this man walking in and I got my camera out just before he got to close to me.
Anyway…I’d appreciate anyone’s comments on it!

I would say, this is my best picuter for the past month:

I’ll tell you why.
Its aways ‘ve been a dream for me to catch a lightning, but never got one, till this moment. This one was taken with 5 sec. expose and the lightning fell down in the last 0.5sec. It was kind of lucky moment :]

hmm… You’ve got me flicking back and forth between two of my photos. I can’t decide!!!
OK, I’ll go with my “Zig Zag” photo.
I chose this one because I like the odd symmetry and how well the textures turned out. It’s an interesting one to look at, because it appears different when you’re close to it versus far away from it. When you’re close, you see the texture and the subtle tone gradients. When you’re far away, you see the bigger patterns and symmetry. And if you blur your eyes, you see another set of patterns an lines. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

I didn’t take any fall photos in September but I did take some cityscape photos. I also ventured out to Point Lobos, but I’ve yet to process any photos from that trip. So by process of elimination the best photo of September is…
San Francisco Lights
Personally I like this one shot as its different than any other cityscape I’ve seen to date of San Francisco.

Well, my best picture this month was this one:

- the autumn theme would be the small tree inside the yard of a world-famouus industrial building….
I like it, because the shutter was open 30 seconds, and there was just enough light to make the picture work - in my opinion.

Well no fall color here in Houston. I’m excited when I see one tree with some yellow or orange leaves.
Last month I had to serve jury duty. It was a civil courthouse so they did not take away my compact Fuji F20. Here is my favorite shot from last month:

My wife (and a few of our friends) are really liking this one of my daughter from last month:
Lemme out of here
I haven’t had a chance to get out and grab some nice fall photos yet, but we’ll be out and about with the camera the next few days. October looks to be promising. =)

I’m pretty new to this whole photography thing (just got my first slr camera in late July) so September was a big learning month for me. This picture was my favorite because here is when all the stuff I read and studied started to click for me. I also liked this photo because there was just enough light to illuminate the bridge but it was also just dark enough so the lights on the pier and bridge would stand out.

I appreciate any and all comments, suggestions, and critiques because I’m still a novice and am still learning everyday.

This one, I guess. I didn’t shoot a whole lot on September that I posted online.

The reason why I like it so much is linked in the description for the photo, but briefly, I think the colour is the best I’ve ever captured with that camera. And the fact that it represents hot rod culture in general makes it my favourite.

I have several favorites from September. This one seemed to be liked by number of people though.

Certainly my best fall-themed picture of the month. Just went out the door to try out a new camera, looking up down around for something to shoot, and noticed a newly fallen oak leaf in a puddle, with the reflection of some overhead wires.

The little guy just reminded me of what it’s like to be a kid, and for that I was grateful. He was also a great subject, and it was fun taking his picture as he romped around the pond at Patterson Park.
