About goldengod
Welcome to goldengod.net - a photography blog designed to teach you to become a better photographer.
Hi! My name is Andrew Ferguson. I’m a Vancouver photographer who decided to help other people learn how to take better photos. I’m not very good at writing about myself or my site, but I’ll give it a go.
An Abridged History Of goldengod
I began this blog in mid-2006, mostly as a personal blog. I wanted to write about the topics I enjoyed, free from the constraints of my Livejournal. I began to have a lot of fun writing it, but realized that I’d given myself far too wide a scope to ever cover.
So I narrowed it down to my major passion; photography. I began to reorganize my site as a photography blog. I began networking with other bloggers, getting into active discussions with my readers, doing more research, and participating a lot more in the niche. I’d been reading and learning about cameras for a couple years, but I’d never really participated in much discussion before.
Now, I’ve happily amassed a few hundred subscribers who both learn from and teach me. That’s really all I could hope for.
Why Do I Do This?
Do you even need to ask that? Because it’s fun! I love talking with people about photography, taking photos, and writing about it. I’m a kinetic learner in a lot of ways, so I don’t learn by studying. I learn by doing and by teaching others. So I’m both teaching my audience and using them to help me learn.
If you wanted more information about anything or have an intense desire to make fun of me, I can be reached through the contact page. Sexual favours will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
